Daisy's Thoughts

Although there we just a few people working, Daisy was able to walk through all of the non-restricted areas, smell and see all of the new distractions.  Even though there were no flights arriving or departing, announcements continued over the public address system.

We will fly from San Luis Obispo to San Francisco for a short lay-over then on to Salt Lake City.  Each leg of the journey, there and back, I was able to book the bulkhead seat.  This way Daisy will have additional room to stretch out a bit.  Hopefully, the seat next to me will be empty to give some additional room.

This flight experience will be a major test for Daisy as many of her skills learned will be required to successfully complete this trip.  We will spend several days with her client before returning home.  After a few days off, Daisy will have additional training for another 5 to 7 months, depending upon her progress.  After this final training, I will take Daisy back to Utah to place with her client.

There was another major event in Daisy's life, a new puppy!  His name is Charlie, an 8 week old Labradoodle who is just starting out in his journey of training.

I think Daisy has accepted this new puppy as both seem to get along without too much change or stress.

This was a big week for Daisy!  We are preparing for a trip to Utah to visit Daisy's client.  Daisy continued to review and improve upon her foundation skills with extra emphasis on working alongside the walker.

As part of our preparation to travel, we visited San Luis Obispo Airport.  My main goal here was to have Daisy experience the smell, sights and sounds of this new environment.

Daisy's Digs

A Puppies' Point of View

                                        By Daisy D.

Something is going on in the human's house!  A long time ago human Ray and Stacy took me to the big water.  We had fun walking, running from the waves, and climbing hills!  I don't really like getting all wet, but human Stacy does, so I let her take me to the water and get a little wet.  I still can't drink the water, "Yuck", she says.  So after going to the big water, something strange happened.  One day there was a new little ankle-biting puppy in my house!  Human Ray kept saying that I will love having Charlie around.  Because he kept saying it, I guess it must be true!  So I tried real hard to play with him.  Charlie is younger, so I was nice.

Then the next day we all went to this place that was really big!  Human Ray showed me there we really big planes there, I saw really big birds!  He said we were going to fly on a big plane (bird) far away.  Then we looked around and I smelled everything in this big place.

I don't really know how we are going to fly on this big bird?  Won't we just fall off?

Then it hit me, going to the big water means the new puppy is staying and I'm going somewhere!  On a big bird!  BARK!

Sometimes it's hard being a growing puppy.
