Family Training Day 1
Getting to Know You

Day 1
Monday, june 7
Our first day with Daisy will be pretty simple. I'd like her to just get to know everyone once again. We can ease her into her new environment showing her around, checking out her outdoor spot and so on.

I'll keep you posted as to my estimated arrival time but will be later in the day or early evening.

I'll encourage Daisy to interact with everyone but not force the issue. Some things to think about this first day.

-
Daisy just rode in the truck all day with just a few breaks.
-
She is in a new environment and it will take her some time to adjust and understand this is her new home.
-
Daisy is very aware of her environment and will adjust as she works through these days ahead.
-
She is sensitive to your emotions, voice and actions. Because of this, these first days and weeks will be adjusting and working the majority of the time.
-
Play will happen each day, however, on a limited basis to start.
-
Daisy has a routine that she should continue for quite a while. Changes to her schedule should come slowly so she accepts them as positive.
-
Please ask questions. If further explanation or demonstration is needed let's address it at the moment it is presented.
-
Please ask questions about the previous day's activities.

Tomorrow, we will take a look at her daily routine and decide on the role each family member will have.

In the morning, Daisy has been sleeping until 8am. This can change in the future but for now it would be a good idea to leave her in the covered kennel until then.

Daisy is taking kennel naps every other day. This can be eliminated after a month or so.

Daisy is used to being on the go, don't hesitate to run errands with her, take her to pick up and drop off family members, etc. Adjust daily schedule as needed.
